One of my favorite places to visit for a short hike with a breathtaking view is to Artist's Point, near the Mount Baker Ski Area in Washington State. This is a painting of the view looking East from the trail to Artist's Point. From that point, if you turn around and look towards the South-West, you can see Mount Baker. Breathtaking views in every direction! The road leading to the trail head is typically closed most of the year, because of snow. Not always, but usually by August, you can hike the trail to the top!
